PetCheck Privacy Policy

PetCheck ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile app that helps pet owners check whether a food or plant may be safe for their dog or cat. The app is operated by Pranay Singh in Australia. You can contact us at support@shriomtech.com.

This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language and kept the amount of information we handle to the minimum the app needs to work.

1. Information the app handles

Photos you scan. When you take a photo to scan, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and then to an artificial intelligence service (Anthropic) that analyses the image and returns a result. We use the photo only to produce your result. We do not save your photos on our server, and we do not use them to build profiles or to advertise to you. The service provider handles the image under its own terms and privacy policy.

Your pet type. The app stores whether you chose a dog or a cat so it can tailor the answer. This is stored on your device and sent with each scan.

A random device identifier. The first time you open the app, it creates a random identifier that is not linked to your name, email or phone number. We use it only to count your free scans and to check whether you have an active subscription. It is stored on your device and in our scan counter.

Scan history. Your recent scan results are saved on your own device so you can look back at them. This history is not uploaded to our servers. Deleting the app deletes it.

Purchase information. If you subscribe, the purchase is handled by Apple. We use a service called RevenueCat to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase receipt information from Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details or Apple ID.

Camera. The app asks for camera permission only so you can take photos to scan. You can turn this off at any time in your iPhone settings.

2. Information we do not collect

• We do not ask you to create an account.
• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number or location.
• We do not use advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell or rent your information.

3. How we use information

We use the information above only to:

• analyse the photo you scan and show you the result
• count free scans and unlock the subscription features you paid for
• keep the app working, secure and free from misuse

4. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers needed to run the app:

• Anthropic, which analyses the photos you scan
• Cloudflare, which hosts our server and scan counter
• RevenueCat and Apple, which handle subscriptions and purchases

These providers process information only on our behalf and under their own privacy and security terms. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

5. How long we keep information

Photos are not stored by us after your result is produced. The random device identifier and your scan count are kept for as long as the app is in service, so that free scans cannot be reset. Scan history stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app.

6. Your choices and rights

You can delete the app at any time, which removes the data stored on your device. You can cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. If you would like us to delete the random device identifier or the scan count linked to it, or if you would like to ask what we hold about you, email support@shriomtech.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. You may also have rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 or the privacy laws where you live.

7. Children

PetCheck is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections and reputable providers to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Not veterinary advice

PetCheck gives general information only. Results are produced by artificial intelligence and may be wrong. They are not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. If your pet may have eaten something harmful, contact a veterinarian or an animal poison helpline straight away.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Using the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
